The fellowship which is an annual program that brings journalists from different countries to American newsroom, has  been won by 12 Nigerian journalists from 1987-2011.

They include:

1987: Dele Omotunde (Nigeria), hosted by The Philadelphia Inquirer

1988: Taiwo Obe (Nigeria), hosted by Newsweek

1989: Okechukwu Ifionu (Nigeria), hosted by The Baltimore Sun

1991: Abiodun Raufu (Nigeria), hosted by US News & World Report

1992: Olatunji Bello (Nigeria), hosted by St. Petersburg Times

1997: Sam Omatseye (Nigeria), hosted by Denver Rocky Mountain News

1998: Doyin Adedeji (Nigeria), hosted by The Kansas City Star

1998: Angela Agoawike (Nigeria), hosted by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

1999: Tamunoibim Semenitari (Nigeria), hosted by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

2002: Rose Moses (Nigeria), hosted by Fort Worth Star-Telegram

2006: Betty Abah (Nigeria), hosted by Denver Rocky Mountain News

2011: Segun Adeoye (Nigeria), hosted by Sun Sentinel
