It was a melting point ideas and innovation on Saturday, June 17, as a team of female journalists tell their stories using data to a team of technologists on Saturday June 17, 2017 at Civic Hub, Yaba, Lagos.

Hack/Hackers is a digital community of people who seek to inspire each other, share information (and code) and collaborate to invent the future of media and journalism.

The event, Hack/Hackers Lagos Meetup was the first Hacks/Hackers in Lagos and it enjoyed the presence of various Nigerian journalists, developers and designers some of which include @JacopoOttaviani @enkayfreda @chikaoduah @hannahojo

The event which is aimed at helping members find inspiration and think in new direction, bringing together potential collaborators for projects and new ventures saw the participants discuss reporting without bias and maintaining professional distance.

According to Okwuone Nkechi, Hack/Hackers meet aimed to make journalism and tech inclusive and accessible to the physically challenged. “Our mission is to be idea catalyst, spreading knowledge information and ideas and expanding our horizon with the Hacks/Hackers training.”
