The pioneer general manager Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (Harmony FM), Idofian, Ifelodun local government area, Kwara state, Mallam Yusuf Abubakar is dead.
He was aged 65. The late ace journalist died in the early hour of yesterday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital after a brief illness.
Kwara state Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commiserated with the family of the deceased.
The chapel in a statement by its Chairman, Layi Olanrewaju and Secretary, Umar Abdulwahab described the news of the death of the late veteran journalist and former Chairman of the Correspondents’ chapel as a sad and painful one.
The statement added that the late Yusuf was a devout Muslim and rallying point for members as he played a vital role in the stability of the over 40 years old chapel.
The statement commiserated with the families of the deceased, members of the Correspondents’ chapel and the entire Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) for the irreparable loss.
It prayed Allah to grant the deceased aljanat firdaous and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The late Abubakar died on Saturday morning in a private hospital in Ilorin has since been buried according to Islamic rites at the Muslim cemetery ,Ilorin
